The architects behind Monaco-based studio Humbert & Poyet have assembled an inimitable portfolio that spans the global stage. The duo is internationally renowned for the striking interiors of the Beefbar restaurants, The Hoxton hotel in Paris and the Aquazzura boutique in New York City, and are well-regarded for their recent work at the Ultimate Provence vineyard estate in the south of France, bookended by a line-up of prestigious private residences.

Spotlighting Scandinavian design amid an international line-up, Stockholm Design Week recently ran its course in the Swedish capital from February 8 to 14. One of the highlights among the seven-day program was the third instalment of 24-Hours, an event series delivered by British design house Tom Dixon.

Comprising seductive silhouettes cast by telescopic cylinders and architectural arches, the New Wave collection of decorative vessels by designer Greg Natale plays with forms reminiscent of the past, rebooted for use within contemporary interiors. “I drew from an array of references for this collection. Most significantly, the 1980s interpretation of art deco which was super bold and futuristic," says Greg.

Instantly recognised for its trippy marbled patterning, the Swirl collection of objects by Tom Dixon has welcomed new larger-scaled cast members. Joining the psychedelic line-up of existing accessories, which includes candleholders, bookends and vases that were released as early as 2019 at Maison & Objet in Paris, the British design house has introduced a series of tables seemingly plucked from fantasyland. Made from the same mesmerising material as their siblings, each table in the latest release has a distinct silhouette, unique colouration and pop-inspired sensibility.

Australian architect Daniel Boddam, who established his practice The Daniel Boddam Studio in 2013, has responded to the on-again, off-again closures of Australia’s borders by developing a virtual Parisian apartment – an inventive solution for showcasing his new collection of furniture during a time of travel bans and global isolation. “Travel has been an important part of my life since childhood, and Paris holds a particularly special place in my heart,” says Daniel. “The experience of confinement has been unsettling on so many levels, however instead of lamenting what was, I decided to explore what could be through 3D visualisation”.

Danish furniture house Fredericia has revealed a special edition of one of Denmark’s most celebrated design duos, ‘The Spanish Chair’ and its dining chair counterpart. The new release sees the timeless chairs reimagined in deep red saddle leather – a warming hue that echoes an earthiness which Danish-born designer Børge Mogensen sought to instil in all of his unpretentious designs.

International design brand Fritz Hansen has released an anniversary edition of the iconic ‘Carimate’ chair in celebration of what would have been the designer-architect Vico Magistretti's 100th birthday. Magistretti (1920-2006) created the original cherry red chair in 1959 for the Carimate in Italy, the golf club after which the chair is named. Renowned for its equally distinctive red window frames, the Carimate clubhouse building was completed in collaboration with Guido Veneziani in 1962.

Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama – the ‘princess of polka dots’ – and famed champagne house Veuve Clicquot were originally drawn together by the likeness of their signatures: dots and bubbles. The first collaboration between the artist and the luxury brand was in 2006 when Yayoi overlaid a portrait of Veuve’s founder, Nicole Barbe Ponsardin (widely known as Madame Clicquot) with bright red polka dots for a charity auction in Tokyo.
