Watch: The long-lost Sydney Opera House doco is now streaming online
Rediscovered in recent years, the BBC documentary Autopsy on a Dream premiered earlier this year. The controversial film is now available for online streaming. Directed by John Weiley and narrated by Bob Ellis, Autopsy on a Dream is as extraordinary as its provocative subject matter – the dramatic story of the construction of the Sydney Opera House, culminating in architect Jørn Utzon’s departure from the project.

Magistretti’s ‘Carimate’ chair relaunched for designer’s 100th birthday
International design brand Fritz Hansen has released an anniversary edition of the iconic ‘Carimate’ chair in celebration of what would have been the designer-architect Vico Magistretti's 100th birthday. Magistretti (1920-2006) created the original cherry red chair in 1959 for the Carimate in Italy, the golf club after which the chair is named. Renowned for its equally distinctive red window frames, the Carimate clubhouse building was completed in collaboration with Guido Veneziani in 1962.

Angelot patisserie in Hangzhou by Say Architects
Multi-disciplinary firm Say Architects has conceived the pared-back Angleot in Hangzhou, China – a patisserie that challenges the senses and tradition in equal measure. Presented with an awkward storefront that was mostly blocked by an existing ventilation shaft, and an unsightly view from the rear of the site, the design team opted to create an experience that looks within, plays with light and fragrance, and unfolds slowly.

Dots and bubbles: Iconic artist Yayoi Kusama collaborates with Veuve Clicquot
Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama – the ‘princess of polka dots’ – and famed champagne house Veuve Clicquot were originally drawn together by the likeness of their signatures: dots and bubbles. The first collaboration between the artist and the luxury brand was in 2006 when Yayoi overlaid a portrait of Veuve’s founder, Nicole Barbe Ponsardin (widely known as Madame Clicquot) with bright red polka dots for a charity auction in Tokyo.
